Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask!

This is the Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask by Herbivore! I’ve reviewed a couple of their products before and I highly recommend the brand overall. I’m excited to share what I thought about this product!

Same as all my reviews, you can click here and it will pull up a webpage from Herbivore’s site with all the product information.

Before applying this product be sure you wash your face well. Before applying this product my skin looked okay because my face had been cleaned, but it was still looking a bit dry and as always I have some acne on my face. According to Herbivore, this product is supposed to clarify acne-prone skin and sooth redness. Both of those are things I struggle with on my face, so I was super excited to use this product! It also says the mask is good for oily or blemish prone skin. I have dry skin, so I was a little nervous about it being good for oily skin, but I definitely have blemish prone skin, so I was hopeful it would still work.

How the mask looks on the skin

To use this product it says to apply a thin layer of the mask to clean skin, leave on for 15-20 minutes, and rinse off. I used my silicone mask “brush” to lay the product down all over my face and smooth it out. Once it was evenly applied I waited the 15 minutes before rinsing it off. Now, as much as wanted this to be my new favorite product, it started making my skin tingle immediately after applying and it lasted until I washed it off. The website does say that tingling may occur and that it’s normal, but it was on the verge of stinging. I didn’t want to leave the product on my skin for the whole 15 minutes, but because the website said it was normal I figured I should leave it.

After washing the product off, I will say it left a pretty sheen to my skin which was nice. I also liked that it made my skin feel firm afterwards. I was honestly happy with the results, but before too long my skin started tingling again. This tingling lasted until I went to sleep, and it was highly uncomfortable. I wouldn’t describe my skin as being sensitive to almost any products, but this one was the exception. I’m torn because I like the way it made my skin look after using it, but it burned so bad I don’t know how often I would actually use it.

Overall, I’m going to give this product a 3/10. The packaging is a nice weighty glass which I love. The price is a bit high for me to want to repurchase, but the ingredients are good and because of that I feel like it is a fair price. I personally used the mini version from the Balance and Clarify mini collection, which as a whole I would recommend. The score is in the middle because I did like what it did for my skin, but I don’t think I’m willing to risk the stinging of my skin for this product. There are other, cheaper products that can do the same thing. It says for sensitive skin to leave on for only 5 minutes, so I may try that in the future to see if the result is any different, but I wouldn’t usually describe my skin as sensitive.
